Re: Sunday!!
Pete, I'm glad you were able to go, sounds like a good experience.
For some reason, jello shots never do much to me, and the people I know that make them use a lot of alcohol. I never drank much, but I don't get tipsy easily.

So crazy! I have been meaning to talk to some people at church about something like this...where older women disciple younger women. I would love that!!
I have a program similar to that. Mel.
An older man (me) mentors younger women.

NO! It's called, 'How to make an older man smile'. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Re: Sunday!!
My last weekend before Summer Vacation, and I kept having to remind myself that I need to go to work on Monday! I felt like I was already there, and yet, I am not. Errr.
Yesterday, I sat around doing not much of anything.
Today, church and lunch, yardwork, and The A-Team.
And now I am all hyped!! The A-Team was AWESOME! I feel ready to face my last 4 days of this school year!

I envy you having the summer off. I should have gone into teaching.
Of course, strangling unruly kids and telling their idiot parents that they shouldn't have been allowed to procreate is probably frowned upon, so better that I didn't.

The 'being a teacher' part or the 'strangling kids' part?
Re: Sunday!!
because of the second part he thought the first part would be a bad idea.

Re: Sunday!!
well, it is Sunday again....time to start rousing the troops and listen to them whine about how they don't want to go to church.....guess what? I don't either!
But, still.....
It is lovely outside this morning, I took the dogs for a brief walk to make sure Prowler can walk, since he is just laying around a lot, and he did pretty well.
We have a soccer game and church, and the twins have to babysit, and Andrew has a pool party. Who knows what else we can squeeze in there?
I hope that you have a lovely and blessed day and that you will have a sense that the God who is bigger than any religion truly does have his eye on you and cares very much to extend his love and grace to you.

Re: Sunday!!
Thanks, Angie.
I got some stuff I brought home from work for summer projects organized today--didn't DO anything, but at least pulled all the stuff out and created a to-do list which should help facilitate the actual doing of the items.
I am heading downtown for a Tigers/Twins baseball game. I usually end up making one trip to the stadium a year, so I guess today is as good as any for some baseball. I am not a fan of the sport, but it is fun to be in the crowd and be out in nice weather. It isn't as hot as it has been the last week or two, so that is good.

Re: Sunday!!
well, here we are again....
this week I think I am going to read the essay Dave linked in Spiritual discussions rather than going to church....I really just have no desire to go.
The kids were all up really late last night, there was no one in this house who went to bed before midnight, and that is taxing for whatever reason....yesterday was one of my spastic days anyway.....Piri got cheese out of the fridge and spilled it all over the floor and Prowler was there to vacuum it up. Really?! Because I just spent more than $1200 for the vet to tell me he was sick because he eats crap like cheese.
So, anyway, I had a little fit, but Nate kept his cool and gave Prowler some peroxide and he threw the cheese up, so we should be good....
but I have this tendency when I start going off to go off in several directions, bringing in subjects that had nothing to do with my original rage, or perhaps, I go in directions I was in a rage about but was trying to keep it bottled up...
anyway, it was just tiring! So today, I think that I am going to maybe get some cleaning done, read the essay, walk in the woods....that is better than going to church to get me in a spiritual state anyway.
Ok, happy Sunday! Champagne wishes and caviar dreams!

Wow, sounds like a fun time at the Jeffery House!
Would you be up for a Weckles visit sometime soon? I have 4 day weekends... Would that be helpful or would that add to the spastic-ness?! ;)

Ummm...I would like a Weckles visit...but I suppose that would be a bit of a drive.
Today I slept till 11. I may or may not go to the 5 pm service at imago. I also kind of need to go the store, but I don't want to take a shower or get all gussied up.

Re: Sunday!!
We gave manicures to some girls at One Way Farm (a working therapy farm one step above foster care/juvie) and then I helped my sister clean her house (since she helped me clean out and organize my 3 bedrooms Saturday)
Then I came home pruned the roses and a few other plants in my flower beds to get all the dead parts off and watered my beds. Then I just sat on my ass and did nothing

Re: Sunday!!
I had such an amazing day today
First good morning at church where I spoke on stage and didn't fart or fall down or anything and a good message on hospitality. Also amazing conversations with random people while I ran around.
Then I went to my friend Claire's house, she's also the mentor church gave me. So right now we're just doing one on one bible study. We did the book of Ruth today, and it was amazing.
I mean, I've never read the book of Ruth like that and it was so great.
Then a meeting at church about finances and the state of how things are etc. Not a bad place, just a family talk about how things are going. I really appreciate how transparent our church is about things like that.

Re: Sunday!!
I have been reading the Deathly Hallows for a good share of the day....I do love this book so. Not a whole lot going on at the Jeffery house, Nate is catching up on much needed rest today, but I know he will be sad that he missed his weekend time. This guy needs a vacation. I am hoping that I can really stick to the Dave Ramsey finance stuff and if we live to see 40, then we might just be able to take a vacation! I am really excited, because for the first time, I really think we might be able to do it....of course, who's to say in 5 years that Nate will have any more vacation time from his job than he currently has, but if we do the Ramsey stuff, we should be able to afford an unpaid week! 5 years.....so, I'm gonna pray God gives us all five more years on the planet!

Re: Sunday!!
Ang, that's awesome! 5 years can seem like a long time but you've been working long and hard at getting the financial stuff worked out and 5 years seems like nothing in comparison to that!
