Nope. Why do you ask, Melsie?

I'd be suspect of a guy named 'Chip'.
Does he have a wife named 'Buffy'?

No, but he was captain of the rowing team at Yale, and his best friend's name is Biff.

I recently did a study by Chip Ingram called, "Love, Sex and Lasting Relationships" in which he outlined how Hollywood (and our culture) has a prescription for how to do LS&LR which is in almost direct conflict for how God prescribes those things to be. On top of that, Hollywood/culture/the Enemy lead us to believe that God's way is restrictive and harsh and a killjoy. But really, God's "restrictions" are to protect us from some of the deepest wounds we can sustain. He doesn't want to take things away from us, he wants to give us the very best...but he can't do that through Hollywood's ways. He can only do it through his ways.

That's a really vague summary that sounds kind of obvious, but I was deeply compelled by Ingram's points. I think this study would be good for everyone to participate in--married, single, those scared of married/dating, dating, young, old, etc.

In the back of the workbook for that study, this was mentioned: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] so I went to check it out and was blown away. The message, especially in the Surrendered section, seemed hand-picked for me at the time and that is what led to me being facedown on the ground offering my everything to God Sunday Night. Very powerful yet simple exhortation!

Good for you, Mel. You seem to be really 'seeking' and God always honors that.

Often what we find is not what we wanted, but it's always better than what we we thought we wanted because it comes from HIm, not from our own selfish interests.
