Stocking poll!

Megan's family does them first, which drives me crazy! I always enjoyed them as a nice afterthought in my family, when you think there's nothing left to open.

We always opened that when we first got up... then we had breakfast and then we opened presents.

We did ours after main gifts and after breakfast. They were always in the basement so we just couldn't bring ourselves to walk past the piles of "big" gifts to the basement for the stockings

We do them first. And everyone can open willy-nilly. Then we do gifts one by one. Then we eat. Then we open our one "spiritual" gift once everything has died down and we can reflect on Jesus' coming.

As kids we did stockings only when we were with my mom's side of the family because there wasn't as much to open so everyone brought their stockings to open there too, until they reached the age of 13.

As time went on it became a tradition at our house to open stockings on christmas eve and open the other gifts on Christmas day. My mother always said once we were married we'd get our stockings and have to do them ourselves........now all three of us are single again.

I didn't even know people left stockings until last, I feel as if my eyes have been opened to something totally WEIRD.

I misread this to say you did not know people left stockings until last NIGHT...I though you had just learned of the tradition.
