A Story Told In Six Words.

Ernest Hemingway once wrote a story in six words and supposedly called it his best work...."For sale: baby shoes, never worn."


I dare you to best him.


I'll start.....



"Takes a thousand lies, supporting truth."

I'm disappointed no one has stepped up to my challenge....so I'll go again....


"See, he stumbled over her heart."

That is a really, really difficult thing that Hemingway can do quite well. No offense, but I don't get a single picture in my brain from your "stories." Hemingway's puts volumes of images in my head. All are heartbreaking, too.

yeah, you could take his and make copies, for example "For sale: wedding dress, never worn." but it would be just that, an imitation....I don't think I could easily do this one on my own.

That's cool. I don't really care if you take anything away from my attempts. The point is to attempt it. It could open some proverbial creative floodgate. I was inspired after reading Papa's 6 word story. It is heartbreaking. I just think the world would be a better place if we all tried to outdo the greats...even if we fail miserably.

I agree with you, Josh. I don't think we should give up....I think that trying to stretch your bounds is always the best idea, even if we do fail. Absolutely.

Another day, another dollar. (Same cubicle.)
