1 in 5. Man, that's a lot. Kids (and adults) have no idea the kind of damage they're doing to their ears. I didn't either when I permanently damaged my ears at a rock concert 20 years ago.

I haven't ever had it checked, but I am pretty sure I have hearing loss. I am always saying "huh?" etc.

You should definitely get it checked! Especially if you have health insurance.

You know, and these days there are the super duper in the ear headphones that they play really loud too... which probably doesn't help much.

Totally. On the train, there will be people listening to ipods with those ear buds and it's blasting so loud the whole train car can hear it. they're destroying their hearing.

I can actually still hear those high pitched noises they used to keep kids out of parks at night, despite the fact that I have an ear that doesn't process wax right.....but I wasn't allowed to go to concerts....or listen to rock when I was a kid.

Very Happy

I didn't say, 'did me' - I said, 'did me in'.
The former was the job of the 'Plaster Casters'.
If you don't know who they were - Google it.
