Pop Ups on this site

I don't know if anyone else has brought this up, but I just signed on and got a pop up telling me I had 1 new message. I clicked it and it was an ad.

Is this a part of being on a 'free' forum? Probably so.

I just commented on that in the Tuesday! thread. But it only popped up once for me. The rest of it is just hanging out in the margins of my screen.

I didn't get the pop-up message, but I noticed ads started today.

I also notice that it says we have a Google Bot present now--like a user, only a Bot!

I don't know if Pete changed something or if it is part of being a free forum...But, I didn't notice either of those things before...

It's probably the case, but I can't say for sure, it's never happened before to me.

I would just suggest to not click on any pop ups.

I'll check around when I get time....sometime in the next two weeks, but I don't think there is anything I can do about that. Sorry.

Now that you're in a leadership position you're held to a higher standard, Pete. Clear this up or step down.

Possibly we understand why Geof had such a 'get in, get out' mentality! He was doing A LOT in many different capacities!

Until now. I think I fixed the problem, let me know if I did or not.

I haven't seen any pop-ups or ads since I signed on a couple of minutes ago.

I don't think he's done anything....I think that the pop ups might only occur when you sign in?
