Tuesday!

I decided today there's pretty much no sadder sight than a casket designed for a 2-yr-old.

yeah, I saw your post on FB and while I haven't ever seen that, I probably have to agree. It isn't supposed to work that way.

It's devastating just to think about it.

I can't imagine, nor do I want to imagine how traumatic that must be....it breaks my heart that anyone has to know that kind of pain.

It was interesting Sunday in church, there is this kid on the worship team who is ADHD, kind of like an asperger's kid...but anyway, he has had very miriaculous events in his life at least four times. I mean, in all of these things no one thought he would survive, but he did. And it was neat because his family made a video that was shared in church last Sunday, because it was the one year anniversary of a car crash that there is no way he should have walked away from. It was pretty moving.

But what about the people who don't get the miracle? Where are they left? There was a man up at the altar after church, and I knew something was going on, and I went and talked to him, and that was kind of where he was....just wondering why God doesn't help some people, but others seem to be showered in mercy.

Life is so very hard, because of course there are all the fantastic cliches, that we know are true....but they just really don't help sometimes, and sometimes God has to take us right through it for us to see.

I was thinking how the people that saw angels in the Bible were often people who had a hard time believing. And maybe miracles work that way too.....sometimes, maybe God knows who would be forever turned from Him if they didn't see a miracle, and who is able to accept that sometimes they don't get what they ask for....

I don't know.

Anyway, Bob, my sister's name is Sue, she is 54. She has 3 grown children, 8 grand children, and a husband. And frnakly I think that my mom needs a lot of prayer...she has already lost her husband and 2 kids....so she is really kind of frazzled right now...she some days just feels like she can't handle it.

I think it will be okay.....I hope so, but of course I don't know. My sister smokes, and tans....all those things that aren't so great for you.

My brother Jim was hit by a car 9 years ago, during our stupid St. Patricks day snowstorm. He was going across the road to help some guy who got stuck in the snow.

The other was my brother Bobby's wife of 35 years, of cancer. And for my mom she was just like her daughter.

We all got married very young for whatever reason, and our spouses really became as much a part of the family as the kids. That is one of the coolest things about my family.

The Kindle is about $100 more for the Kindle alone, and I am broke
This unit is thicker than the kindle but smaller dimensionally, it hold "only" 350 books as opposed to thousands in the Kindle, and really, I don't need more than 350 really.

A few guys at work have a Sony reader and really enjoy it and I played with the one and it seems good. So I went with it. Since it was less expensive I was also able to get a case, wall plug and expedite shipping to ensure I would get it before Portland and all I had to pay was $3.28 over the gc value.

cool I have a couple friends who have The Nook. I don't like the idea that you have to buy books for your product at one particular place...

yeah, the Sony Reader lets y ou get it from wherever. Sometimes you just have to download to your computer and transfer like iTunes or something

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I still like the feel of a book in my hand. There's something comforting about curling up with a good book. Curling up with a piece of plastic just doesn't seem like it would be the same. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

There's the obvious advantage of being able to carry hundreds of books around with you, so that makes sense to me, but given the choice, I'll still take the book whenever possible.

I don't even like reading on the computer screen all that much. For long articles, etc., I print them out and read them.

I think a lot of people do. It's a 'comfort' thing.

Being able to carry an entire library around is a definite plus, but I still couldn't get over not having my book (binky).

well,l i have ibooks on my ipad... i also have the kindle app and the b&n app... and I've started anne of green gables... but it feels awkward to hold and read from... but that might be the size.
