Christmas Eve Empty Christmas Eve

Post by Bethany Thu Dec 24, 2009 8:12 am

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! I'm working 8-12 and then going home to shred some chicken and bake some cookies (and probably some laundry in between)
I'm hoping my stomach holds up, it's feeling a little iffy right now Sad

What is anyone doing tonight?

My parents, sister and her family will come over and we'll have shredded chicken sammies, some snacky food. Play games, chat and then drive around looking at Christmas lights.

I work from 12-8.

Then I run home grab a shower and change, then head off to my parents to open stockings with my siblings. Then it's a mad dash for church at 11pm. Then home to bed to be up for church on Christmas day and spending the day with the family.

I'm exhausted already! Laughing

I may never get out of work today. The last 3 hours and 40 minutes have felt longer than my 8 1/2 that I work each day. Mad

If the pass wasn't so bad, I'd drive to Bend to be with my mom. But I'm just going to be hanging out at home by myself tonight and then going to my dad's tomorrow afternoon. Its a very relaxed holiday season for me and I'm very okay with that.

I of course finally got off of work. It seems like the last 2 1/2 hours flew by faster than the first hour of work today!
I've done laundry, eaten lunch, cleaned the kitchen, changed sheets and shredded 12 chicken breasts for sammies tonight. Now I'm going to mix of Andes Mint Cookies and let that chill for an hour before I make them. All I have to do is finish the laundry and I'm going to read while I'm waiting on all of that stuff.

My parents are in town, but at my sisters house, where I suspect they'll stay for another few hours until they ALL decide to come over for Christmas Eve...since there's a 5 year old boy there and I'm just a 30 year old Laughing

Christmas tunes are on the radio and I'm finally feeling the Christmas spirit. If only my nose would dry up and stop running!

Pammeigh- my eight year old niece read the Christmas story out of either luke or john, i'm not sure which one... and she did it all by herself with no help.

Finally home from work. It wasn't quite the day I imagined so all in all it wasn't bad.

Just one customer that replied to my "Thank you and have a Merry Christmas" after I handed out each order. Their reply?

"It's rather ignorant of you to think everyone celebrates Christmas"

My reply to them?

"Oh, in that case have a Merry Thursday" and I walked away. Laughing

Great response!

Just goes to show that unbeliever can be Pharisees, too.
