We make Cornish Pastie for Christmas dinner....it is so delicious!
I think I am going to make a quiche and french toast for breakfast, then we will have dinner around 4, the rest of the day we will eat cookies and fudge.
Nate loves peanut blossoms, I love molasses crinkles, the kids like sugar cookies.....there is a little of everything!

I love egg nog, but I am now scared that I am on the verge of a heart attack since Brittany Murphy died....ah, hypochondria! So, I am trying to make myself avoid fatty foods.....like that will happen!meether369 wrote:Egg nog!

I know, but I just have this fear of going into cardiac arrest....of course, I shouldn't fear it, as I wouldn't know, huh?meether369 wrote:I doubt fatty foods did Brittney Murphy in...

Well you shouldn't worry about it because if nothing else stress and worry only serves to increase your chances of going into cariac arrest I think
Re: Favorite Christmas Food
I used to love egg nog. Sadly I can't have it anymore, it's a dairy product.
I love pretty much anything sweet. Ham loaf is our Christmas dinner of choice though and I can't wait for it.

My mom made a ham loaf for dinner the day after Thanksgiving and it was so gross. It seems everyone else loved it, I on the other hand felt like after

What in heaven's name is Ham Loaf and why wouldn't you just have ham, without making a loaf of it?
I am not a big ham fan...I think it is because my grandma insists on cooking it in cheap ass beer so all I taste when I eat it is The Beast...

A ham loaf is very similar to a meat loaf, but with ham! It's hard to explain, it has to be made right to be good and we leave that to the meat cutter a town over from us who makes the second best ham loaf we ever had. The other we can't get anymore because the only person with the recipe died and took it with him.

But, meat loaf is made with ground beef...do you grind the ham? Hmm, I don't know how I feel about that...

yes you grind up the ham and mix with a couple other things, put a pinapple on top and bake it. I guess it's not for everyone, but I think it's fantastic!

Hmm, I guess I would have to experience it to come to any real conclusion.

A couple of years ago I found a Paula Dean recipe called Sunshine Coffee cake... or something like that.... so it's become a tradition.
I also love carmel corn.

What's in it?
My aunt makes this white, green, and red striped jello thing that I always like at Christmas. I am not a fan of jello normally, but I like this thing she makes.

Re: Favorite Christmas Food
I have some buckeyes at my house that I"m trying to keep safe from my visitors this weekend.
I don't want to scarf them all, but I only have a few so I don't want anyone else to eat them.
I think I might hide them in the freezer.
But I love buckeyes!
