I'm listening to Brandi Carlile again. I realized today that she reminds me a lot of Jennifer Knapp... I think that's why I like them so much.

Speaking of Jennifer Knapp, I follow her on Twitter and she is in the finishing stages of mixing an album and is apparently looking for a record company... she also sent a tweet out asking if anyone wanted to tour with him to which Derek Webb eyed her hopefully from the corner. Umm... does anyone else feel like they are eavesdropping on peoples lives on twitter?

i don't know... maybe 8 or 9 years ago... she only ever did 3 albums I think.

In other news, I have been loving the new Snow Patrol song, "Just Say Yes" which has more of a club/dance feel.

I read her wiki too. Interesting...it'd be cool if she wrote a memoir about why she drew back from music and what then helped her return.

So, I got Jason Castro's EP last night, and I wasn't really thinking I would be too impressed.... but I really am.

I'm surprised how much I like this album. The last 2 releases were very meh for me and I didn't buy this one until very recently because of it.

I LOVE this album... Always Yours breaks my heart and heals it all in the 3-4 minute time length.

I love that song.
This is the first album of theirs I've actually liked since Beautiful Letdown. It might end up competing with that as my favorite, but I don't know the songs well enough yet to know for sure.
But slowly but surely the lyrics are sinking in and doing just what you said. Breaking my heart and healing it all at the same time.

Mahalia Jackson, Mahalia Jackson, and more Mahalia Jackson! (Can't get enough!)

Also, a bunch of old swing from the 30's and 40's (a lot of Duke Ellington and Count Basie).

Oh, and Aretha Franklin, "Lady Soul", which is so awesome.
