I watched (500) Days of Summer. That is a great movie! And then as I was organizing and getting more stuff put away I watched both Bridget Jones movies. Love them both...Colin Firth is hawt!

I do love the Bridget Jones movies, but the books--especially listening to them--are even better!

I LOVED (500) Days of Summer Holly, it was so great.
I love SiS too, you just can't go wrong with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks in a RomCom.
I finished the night out with Air Force One. I have a massive crush on Gary Oldman (I keep almost typing Coleman, which is a totally different context )

I saw New Moon again tonight. I giggled at some of the goofy parts (that aren't supposed to be goofy) but it confirmed in my mind that it is WAY better than Twilight and I think Eclipse will be even better. I think the young cast is coming into their characters, etc.

I thought about seeing that again this weekend... i decided to wait till it gets to The Academy theater or one of the other cheaper ones. I want to see Leap Year also.

Yeah, I want to see Leap Year too. I am a sucker for anything Irish. And Amy Adams makes it even better!

I loved that movie... but it was too emotional for me to watch more than once.

Funny you should say that. I bought that movie several months ago when I saw it for 4 or 5 bucks somewhere. So my wife sees it in my DVD stack and mentions that she would like to see it when I do. So it sits, because I am waiting for her to want to see it. I'm about to watch it anyway without her. I mean, I watched two of her movies in the last two weeks: Persuasion (a Jane Austen thing), and New in Town. Plus, I had a birthday yesterday. Doesn't she owe it to me to watch something I want to watch?
I doubt I'll cry, though.

I will put money on your crying.
Shoot! We didn't put up a Happy Birthday thread! I am not used to this new calendar...

Not really necessary.
Re: What movie have you seen lately?
I fell asleep watching House of D--wasnt that captivating, obviously.
Watched Black and White which was horrible. I wish I had finished House of D instead of seeing this one through to the end. I was kind of hoping something good would come out of it, but nope.

Re: What movie have you seen lately?
Finally watched Star Trek.
As a movie, it was great. Very edge-of-your-seat entertaining. However, it wasn't Star Trek. The real Star Trek was about cheesy dialog, slow pacing, cheap sets, hammy acting, and bad guys in possibly rented costumes. This new movie was so high-tech that it missed a lot of the charm of the original.
Please note that when I say original, you whippersnappers may think I am speaking of the Next Generation or Deep Space Nine one of those series. I am not. Slapping the words "Star Trek" in the name of a show does not make it Star Trek.

I was never a fan of the show... or really any of the shows... well, I kind of liked The Next Generation.... but just because of Will. Anyway, I did however enjoy the movie... probably cause it wasn't like the show/shows

As I have only truly embraced my inner geek in the last year or two, I wasn't ever a fan of the original show. But, after seeing this movie, I went back and watched a number of episodes of the first season. I was intrigued. I agree it isn't the same, but I believe the movie created a new fanbase while pleasing the tried and true ones too.
