We got flooded and power is off at work. Sent everyone home from work at 11:00. Not good at all.

This was different. One was about the flood and the accompanying pictures. This was about how we lost a days' business, many hourly people got sent home, and I got chewed out for not having a better backup plan for our servers running off of generators. It was about the power outage, not the flooding. And the third was about my kid praying in a different storm on a different day. Mel will understand.

Took my car to the shop today for an oil change, tire rotation and new brakes.
They called a bit ago and said my brakes still had 1/2 their life on them so all I owe is for the oil change and tire rotation....I am in love with this call

I tried to find the "like" button on your post until I realized maybe I spend too much time on facebook.

I bought the BEST tennis shoes today. I had no idea my feet could feel this great in lace up shoes.

that's kind of how I feel today....

I didn't want to get up, and then I hurt my ankle....but all is well now. Going to pizza hut with my mom for dinner....so no cooking! YAY!

I stayed after work for a while working on a lesson for Friday. Heading home to do some side work and catch up on my TV watching. It feels better to skip church during the week. I have so many other things that take my time during the week that giving another evening feels like a lot. My church just recently started livestreaming the wednesday night services, which makes it even easier to stay home--i can watch it from bed if I want to!! (Who am I kidding?! I watch everything from bed!)

I should clean my house....but tomorrow is my day off...so I will do it then....I am kind of tired.

I had to give Piri the Heimleich at Pizza Hut....choked on a hard candy. I found it incredibly frightening. I hate hard candy.

yeah, I just got certified in CPR in May, and I was still totally clumsy, because I was scared....but the candy ended up on the floor....so I did ok. I actually picked her up and as I was trying to dislodge the candy I yelled, "Does anyone know the Heimleich?" just in case I didn't get it right....but then the candy came out, and I said, "I guess I know the Heimleich...."

So scary! Glad she's ok.

That's a bit terrifying.
Ban the hard candy!

I never give my kids candy, that is the funny thing.... I have always hated the stuff.... but yesterday it was on the table, and I started thinking about something Dr. B said to me a long time ago when I was dealing with gripping fear about one of my kids dying, and he told me that there is no point in worrying, that we don't have control...and for example if your child chokes on candy, you can always do the Heimleich...so don't worry, because only God is in control.

Kind of strange, but anyway....

I am wearing pajamas at work today

Long day today. We're having a vendor fair at work which means we all have to be on our best behaviour and I'm wearing a dress.
I'm also wearing a dress because after work I'm bolting up 71 to attend an awards banquet where Washington Project is being honored by a Rape & Crisis Shelter that we've served several times in the last year.

Should be fun...just a long day!

I am home today.....Rhys threw up last night, and although I think he is fine, I let him stay home, since I had already arranged a sub for the day....so, I guess I should use the day to do something productive at home....I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Productive in Katyland=sitting on the couch watching movies and cooking shows.

I think I'd like to move to Katyland, I sometimes do the same thing but don't feel productive, if I moved to Katyland maybe I'd let myself do it more often.
