When in Rome - cute, very typical rom/com but who cares... it has Josh Duhamel... it also has Napoleon Dynamite and Pedro...

I just watched the first installment of Emma, the Masterpiece Theater miniseries running right now. It is very well done, and I love Jonny Lee Miller. I am convinced I will fall in love with someone from the United Kingdom...

Untamed Heart with Christian Slater and Marissa Tomei
They were supposed to be 26 in the movie. It made me feel really really old. But I LOVE that movie.
Where the Heart Is with Natalie Portman, Stockard Channing, Ashley Judd
So good. Just all around. Reminded me how much I love Natalie Portman

The Big Kahuna. Very thought-provoking. The plot is specifically about Christians bringing their witness into their jobs. I was impressed with the way a Hollywood movie didn't make the Christian look like a doofus, or have him compromise his beliefs at some point during the story.
Re: What movie have you seen lately?
Bethany, have I ever told you the story about how I totally ruined the movie untamed heart for the woman sitting behind me at the theatre, because I heckled it the entire time....I was a snot....I think I was a junior in hs at the time....

I don't know anything about Jane Austen.
Watching Sense & Sensibility (with Emma Thompson)

That's a good one. I love when she gets oh so frustrated. She's a great actress.
If you like that one, look into Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth and the new Emma series on PBS right now. Awesome! It is romance in it's highest form!

I forgot about Mrs. Weasley. And McGonagall. I haven't seen Spe in much myself, but that would be understandable. I think, because England has a history of acting troops, they rely heavily on a handful of pristine actors.
She isn't in HP, but Judy Dench seems to be the queen of that guild!

And the rest of the British actors who don't make it in there, end up here!

Re: What movie have you seen lately?
Just watched Yes Man with Jim Carey.
The personal undertones to my life are unreal. There was a line in the last 2 minutes of the movie that shook me.
"The old Carl was afraid if he said yes to too much that people would find out he wasn't enough."
It's as if the writers read my mind for that.

A Night at the Museum 2: that's an hour and half of my life I'll never get back.

I'm sorry... but think about the fact that you saved some of us from having to lose an hour and a half of our life to the movie.

Dear John. It isn't exactly what you would think it is from the previews. It is good. I think better than the Notebook. But, it's been a while since I saw the Notebook...

I think Mel likes Amy Adams, who has a prominent role in the movie (and does a very good job, BTW), so maybe it's for her.

BUT, I don't like Ben Stiller, who has a MORE prominent role in the movie...and I never saw the first one. For reasons sited previously in this post...

Re: What movie have you seen lately?
I can take or leave Stiller. Definitely not one of my favorites. But this movie was just not funny, and was just dumb (not a good kind of dumb, like The Jerk or Dumb and Dumber). Oh well.

No Greater Love. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
My Beth and I watched this movie last night, and it was quite good, and had a less simplistic plot than most overtly evangelistic movies.

Re: What movie have you seen lately?
Stiller has a new movie coming out that I am actually kind of interested in--it looks like the single man's Dan in Real Life or maybe even a bit like DM's A Million Miles. It looks more serious and yet sweet funny than his previous work.
